one last thing. the squat with the hardwood floors and pots and pans that's in new orleans and alot of people left all there stuff behind never to return. kids fix those places up and then live with them. it's sort of like a furnished apt. you dont have to pay for. you just work on it.

And I would have to agree with a few others that many of these people choose to live this way. However, some have mental illness that without proper treatment and support makes a normal life pretty damn hard to achieve. I should know. I've come close to being one of them |

I would occasionally come across sever people like this in my college years. Not homeless perhaps but kids from middle and upper middle class families who decided to live out some stupid fantasy to be cool. Poseurs. Unlike real homeless they can probably go back to the comfort of mom and dad.

I believe these photos are amazing. I don't think they are meant to represent the "real homeless" of America, but to capture the raw beauty in an alternative lifestyle, that few see.
Regardless of if these people are losers or not, they don't appear miserable, they're living life on their own terms |

I loved these photos. It reminded me of traveling across the US to Alaska in the 80's. I can't believe that no one has noticed all the musical instruments. Guitars, mandolin and accordion. I fantisize about this sometimes when there is too much stress in my life i think it would be so much easier no bills, no work, like having to put up with the bosses B.S. and just having time...to enjoy the scenery and the adventures. I would do it but i have a much bigger responsiblity my chilren.
